Position Summary
Bryant University seeks to fill three (3) full-time, Professional-in-Residence positions in Applied Artificial Intelligence. These positions are part of a strategic cluster hire to continue the expansion of our Applied AI curriculum, as well as the build-out of the Center for Applied AI. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and will play a central role in delivering undergraduate instruction in artificial intelligence.

Principal Accountabilities
The standard teaching load for this position is 6 courses per year, accompanied with additional responsibilities related to the Center for Applied AI. Primary teaching responsibilities will include introductory and applied AI courses, but may also include selected upper-level electives in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and emerging AI applications as program needs evolve. The position is intended for individuals with professional experience and a strong applied orientation—someone who can translate AI concepts into accessible, hands-on learning experiences for primarily undergraduate students across business and related disciplines.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or higher in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or a closely related field.
  • Ability to design and teach hands-on AI and data analytics projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying AI in at least one of several domains, such as accounting, finance, marketing, healthcare, insurance or media.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of responsible AI practices, including ethical considerations in AI deployment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior college-level teaching experience would be beneficial but not necessary.
  • Professional or applied experience working with AI Application Development, AI tools, AI platforms, or AI-enabled workflows.
  • Familiarity with generative AI technologies, prompt engineering, and AI applications in business or organizational settings.
